One day we took a trip to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ... ironic name because it is highly militarized). This was beyond description for me. Surreal. At one point we were standing within shouting distance of a North Korean soldier with no barrier at all between us. Others said when they have visited this conference room, which sits directly on the border, a North Korean soldier was inside the room with them, observing.
While in this conference room, which is used for armistice talks to this day, I stood in North Korea. Very strange feeling. It is odd to stand at a place that separates two people, united by history, language, and ethnicity, but divided by war. People living radically different lives. In the south: freedom, faith, and prosperity. In the north: tyranny, communism, and poverty.
Hey Chris, I had the same surreal feeling when, in college, I visited the DMZ between East and West Germany. That's history of course now but then it was a strange feeling to stand in a free country and look over into a communist regime. Peace, Trey BTW, you look great on video.
